What is the Family Post?

The Family Post began with a desire to help families practically fulfill the Biblical principles found in Scripture.  The Family Post is a simple, yet practical, idea that is found in the Bible.  This is found in Deuteronomy chapter 6.

Deuteronomy 6:5 -9 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

This is a visible symbol of believed truth.  If we are going to raise our family to live for the Lord, they must “see” it.  Hearing is not enough.  Eventually, every child stops believing what they hear, but they keep believing what they see.  We must write, “on our family post,” what we want our children to learn.  This takes work.  It is not easy.  It is worth it.

Our Family

I am a Pastor at the Trinity Baptist Church in Bradford, Arkansas.  My wife, Kim, and I have four children, Timothy, Chrissyana, Eleanor, and Joseph.  We are endeavoring to raise our family to follow God in the middle of a God-forsaking world.  We hope, that throughout our personal journey following the Lord, we can help other families live out their callings to reach generations of families for the Lord.

If you have any questions about our ministry, if you need prayer for your family, or if there is anything else we can do to help your family please email me at seth@thefamilypost.org.
